Tabor Academy – Summer School 2021
BackDuring the first two weeks of the Summer Holidays, Tabor Academy held a Summer School for over 250 students.
We offered places to all the students who would be joining us in Year 7 in September, as well as, students in Year 7 and 10. The attendance to these sessions was fantastic. The sessions varied from activities and sports to lessons on many different areas of the curriculum, including Maths and English. Our Year 7 students enjoyed a fantastic ‘Science Week’ which included lots of exciting experiments!
The Summer School supported the transition for year 6 students and encouraged them to work in teams to build their self esteem and confidence with students that they were unfamiliar with.
The DfE Funding of £43,988.09 covered our costs including the 24 wonderful teachers who volunteered to help our students during the Summer School, lunch for the students, support from our Year Care Team and Learning Support Assistants, our hardworking caretakers and cleaning staff as well as the costs of electricity and gas.
