Tate Modern

In the Spring term the Art department took 36 year 10, 11 and 12 Art and Photography students to London to visit the Tate Modern and study the inspiring surrounding landscape and landmarks.

The weather was bright and gave us a wonderful opportunity to take in and photograph the Millennium Bridge, the River Thames, St Paul’s Cathedral and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.

Once in the Tate Modern we were wowed by floating art work in the form of huge jellyfish in the main Turbine Hall, and spent time exploring the main galleries full of inspiring 2D and 3D work, photographs and installations. The trip will be incorporated in to current coursework projects and used to inspire project ideas for both GCSE and A Level Art and Photography.
