BackPlanned Road Closures Panfield Lane and Deanery Hill Area
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have been given an advance warning of planned road closures in and around the Panfield Lane and Deanery Hill area, which we anticipate will impact the traffic for school drop off and pickups.
We are therefore sharing this information with yourselves, with plenty of notice, so that any travel arrangements can be taken in to consideration and for the disruption that this may cause.
The dates in which it will impact is from 13th April 2026 to 22nd July 2026. Whilst we are hopeful that these are completed promptly, we do know that at times, roadworks overrun.
The first phase is for the works required on Panfield Lane, which will be completed under a road closure, from the 13/04/26 until the 07/07/26.
The closure will need to be in place 24/7 with 7 day week working.
The works here involve:
- Diversion works for existing underground utilities
- Installation of a new surface water drainage system
- Widening of Panfield Lane to create new right turn lane and provide two central islands
- Resurfacing of Panfield Lane
- New cycleway link into the new development.
The second phase is for works required on Deanery Hill, which will be completed under a mix between 2 way & 3 way lights, which will follow on from the road closure for the next two weeks 08/07/26 until 22/07/26. The lights here will be daytime works, with the possibility of the lights being pulled in overnight.
It is our expectation that students are still punctual to school and in time for morning registration at 8:55am. We are mindful that there is likely to be delays but hope that this prior notice is useful for you.
